Thursday November 29, 2007 (12:03pm) Trippin' (while listening to Pushit by Tool) -Well, it's almost here. Tomorrow we head down to Portland for the big holiday "get together". I'm way excited cause this is going to be one hell of a vacation. It will also be somewhat of an adventure since I don't have all the details planned out. But I'm not really that worried. I'm sure it will be mondo fun. Yes, I just said mondo. I'm not even reall sure what the hell "mondo" even means. That's just how excited I am. -Can't wait to see Tool on the 5th. I got my list of songs that I'd like to hear at the show. Here they are: 10. Forty Six & 2 9. Vicarious 8. Jambi 7. The Patient 6. The Grudge 5. Lateralus 4. Ænima 3. Rosetta Stoned 2. Reflection 1. Third Eye -I'm sure most of you by now have heard that Jillian has cancer. I'd just like to give a shout out to her and let her know I'm thinking about her. I believe that tomorrow she starts her chemo, which is going to be rough. Hopefully it's not as drastic as the poision they pumped into me and she feels good enough on Saturday to come and hang out at the family get together. I guess we'll see. Anyway, good luck Jill. I hope it all goes smooth. -The eye is doing ok. Just yesterday I bought a few pairs of reading glasses at the Dollar Tree which seem to help in certain situations. I don't wear them a lot, partly because I'm still getting use to them but also because then I can't see so well out of my other eye. I bought 3.50 and 1.50 strengths, but those may not be the best ones to use for my specific needs. At least the Dollar Tree has them for a dollar, so I don't have to spend too much. -Still having issues with my left thigh painfully falling asleep. I even went so far as to prop up the head of my bed. All I did was stuff a bunch of pillows and blankets and other crap under it so it's about a foot or so higher. It's not the perfect fix as it's definately not as comfortable, but it does seem to help with the thigh issue. It's just that, because it's kind of an awkward, uncomfortable fix, I don't know if it's actually helping me sleep any better. Perhaps I just need time to get used to it. Or, perhaps I just need to get an adjustable bed that is comfortable. If this keeps up for much longer, I might have to seriously entertain that idea. -Now it's time for everyone's least favorite section of my blog: the Kyle Sports Report. You see, I'm the type of sports fan that doesn't mind listening to a game on the radio, as I've grown accustomed to it over the past 6 or 7 years. The internet has always been a great tool for this, as many radio stations stream their content online for free. But several years ago leagues like the NFL and NBA started to charge for this previously free service, thus drastically decreasing the number of rouge radio stations that still streamed pro sports games online against their leagues wishes. But last night I was shocked to find that NBA.com is offering FREE live radio broadcasts of all their games, for what appears to be at least the remainder of the 2007-2008 season. All I had to do was create a username and password and I was in. So last night I was able to listen to my Pacers beat the Blazers via the internet. I still can't believe that the NBA is doing this for free, but I think it's awesome. Now if only the NFL could do the same... -I got all my Christmas shopping done yesterday. Like always, I wish I could have bought more stuff for more people, but such is the holiday season. But I think I did ok. And if I didn't get you something this year, then I apologize. If it helps, you can blame it on the fact that we did Secret Santa. Or, you can take some of the responsibility yourself and start buying me more Christams crap so next year I'll reciprocate. It's your choice. But there's no pressure. By the way, I'm a size XL and my favorite color is black. I also like candy and Playstation 3's. Still no pressure. -I decided to sell some of my old video games to help with the costs of this years Christmas presents. I was even able to sell a 1994 used cart-only copy of the Sega Genesis game Shining Force II on eBay for $30. Not bad for a game that not only did I own two copies of, but was given to me for free. That's it folks. I'm out. Later, Kyle
