Wednesday February 11, 2009 (03:27pm) Sad Panda (while watching Mad About You on my PC) -Football season is now over. To quote a TV show you probably think is stupid, "I'm a sad panda..." -I've been having bad headaches for the past few days. The pain is both dull and sharp. They seem better when I turn the lights off and lay down so I think it's mostly caused by light sensitivity but it could be a combination of things. My left eye has been bothering me (dry, red, itchy) as well as both of my inner ears (intermittent throbbing, feels clogged up). My oncologist set up an appointment with an Ear-Nose-Throat doctor tomorrow so I'll see what they says about my ears and the headaches. As for my eyes, I've been using eye drops, wearing sunglasses, drinking more water, spending less time in front of computer screens, and resting. I might decide to go to my eye doctor if my left eye gets worse or the headaches don't go away. -I really hope the Bengals re-sign T.J. Houshmandzadeh. If you think I'm a sad panda now, just imagine how sad of a panda I'll be if they don't. -I got A's in both of the classes in my last block. I actually got 100% in my Cultural Diversity class, the first time I've ever received a perfect score. So if you thought I wasn't a culturally diverse person, it looks like you were wrong. Recognize! -I am very angry with NBC right now. Ever since the episode of The Office that aired after the Super Bowl they've been airing all of their TV shows in fullscreen, even the ones that we're filmed in widescreen. This means that the episodes that I am seeing have the left and right sides cut off, thus I cannot see part of the video that the director filmed. I have noticed this on The Office, My Name Is Earl, Kath & Kim, 30 Rock, and Law & Order SVU. All of these shows are shot in widescreen and have aired in widescreen for years prior to the Super Bowl. The stupid thing is that when I go to NBC's website to watch these shows the next day online they are in widescreen! My guess is that they are only broadcasting shows in widescreen on HD channels and they are converting these shows to fullscreen for SD (Standard Defintion) channels. It's an NBC thing cause FOX still broadcasts House on SD channels in widescreen. Anyway, this whole thing makes me one really sad panda so I've been sending e-mails to NBC telling them that I think this stinks. I will continue to do so until they either give me a reason why, they change things back to the way it was before the Super Bowl, or I decide it's stupid to be such a sad panda over some stupid TV shows. -I saw the Pacers beat the Cavs last night. Yay. -I read this article on Yahoo! and it made me such a sad panda that I just wanted to punch something. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090211/ap_on_re_us/courthouse_kickbacks It's just not fair. Bad things happen to Americans all the time (cancer, getting laid off, getting poked in the eye, etc) yet these two fuckers we're healthy, employeed, and could see out of both eyes well enough to exploit kids for millions of dollars. My hope is that something very bad happen to these judges, like penis cancer or a type of virus that's only contracted when you've had sex with a tiger multiple times. It would make me a lot less of a sad panda, that's for sure. Later, "Sad Panda" P.S. Happy (late) Birthday Conner! P.P.S. "I'm a sad panda..." is from South Park.
