Saturday January 28, 2006 (12:24pm) Gut Stuff (while listening to Who Are You by The Who) Hello everyone. How's it going? I'm doing better myself. I've been having some intestinal issues these past few weeks or so and it's been a real pain in the butt. But things have been getting better and I haven't been as uncomfortable for the past few days, which has been nice. I've been able to eat more and eat more of my favorite foods as things are "flowing" and "releasing" much better now. I can't say for sure whether any of the things I've been doing are helping, and if so how much, but I've been exercising more, eating better, eating less, taking acidophilus pills, and taking Prilosec OTC everyday instead of generic Pepcid AC. I'm gonna try and keep it up cause it seems to be working, but it's just all too tempting to overeat now that I'm feeling a little better. We'll see if I've got the will power to control myself. There's no football this week cause the Super Bowl is next week. Man, it sucks to think that the football season is almost over. I always get a little sad when it's over. But, there's always basketball to fall back on, which is nice. But most of the teams I like in basketball kinda suck this year. Most of them are in last place in their division. So it looks to be kind of a lame year in basketball. At least I'll get to see a lot of Blazer games on TV. Even when they lose, I guess it's still entertaining. I did something rad and I just have to brag about it. I found this free program called AutoHotkey which allows you to create hotkeys and remap your keyboard, mouse, and joystick buttons and functions to virtually any other keyboard, mouse, joystick, or system or application command. So, I created a script that allows me to control all mouse functions, plus my most frequently used keyboard, system, and application commands from my USB joystick controller. That USB controller looks like a DualShock Analog Playstation 2 controller, meaning that it has the analog stick that I can use for mouse control. Anyway, now I can sit in bed and have complete control on my computer. I can even mute the system volume and send the monitor into power save mode, so if I'm in bed at night watching something on my computer, I can turn it off without having to get up! Of course, the controller has a cable, so it's not wireless. The ultimate would be if I got a wireless USB controller. Now THAT would be friggin' awesome. I had to get another one of those IV IGG bags at the clinic the other day. Apparently I was low on IGG, and it's one of those important blood things that helps prevent infections and whatnot, so it was important that I get it. It takes 3 hours to infuse, but it wasn't so bad. I've had longer days. Getting blood is a minimum of 4 hours (2 bags, 2 hours a piece), and that's if things go smooth and the nurses are on top of their shit. But anyway, the doctor says my liver counts are much better and almost back to normal, which is good. They are also still weening me off the steroids, so now I'm down to 35mg a day (20mg in the morning, 15mg at night). In a week it'll go down to 15mg twice a day. And that's cool with me. I guess that's it for now. Take it easy everyone, Kyle
