Friday September 7, 2007 (11:02am) “This is life as I know it. This is life as I know it.” (while listening to Life Is Shit by The Dead Milkmen) -My Saints got their asses handed to them by the Colts last night to start the NFL season. It was pretty ugly. Good thing I don't really mind the Colts or I'd be even more pissed off. -In more football news that pisses me off, I just realized that my next doctors appointment will cause me to miss the first part of the Bengals game on Monday night. Normally MNF wouldn't be on so early, but since there's a double header on Monday night this week the Bengals start playing at 4pm, and my appointment is at 3:45pm. I even called them to see if they could make the appointment for earlier or perhaps on another day, but that was a no-go. They said there's nothing else available all week, and that the next open appointment is on September 20, which is the day I go see The Flaming Lips. So, it looks like I'm going to missed at least the 1st quarter of the Bengals opening game. Lame. -Have you ever thought to yourself "Gee, I sure would like to do some scrapbooking, it's just too darn bad I don't have any supplies!" Well, if you have, then maybe you should check out ForTheLoveOfScrap.com. It's Jamie's brainchild, but I'm the guy that runs the site. So be sure to check out the site and buy lots and lots of stuff. Also, tell your friends about it. Seriously, stop reading right now and go tell your friends about it. It's cool. I'll still be here when you're done. -I re-did the menu bar on my website, as some of you may have already noticed. It's basically the same code as before, I just changed the color theme and things like border style and cellspacing to get a cooler looking, easier to read menu. I think it looks good, even though yellow is one of my least favorite colors. But according to my own personal studies, I think yellow text on a black-ish background is the easiest to read, even easier than white on black. I hope everyone likes it. -It looks like my boy Reggie Miller, who was courted by the Boston Celtics, will stay retired. I knew he would. Reggie doesn't seem to be the type of player who would sell out just to win a championship, like some players (cough: Gary Payton, Karl Malone...) -My neck and right shoulder have been sore these past couple of days. At this point, I don't think it's anymore serious than sore muscles, probably from sleeping in an awkward position and not having perfect posture. It's feels much better today than it did yesterday, which is a good sign. It's just that the blood clot in my leg started out as sore muscles and progressively got worse, so now I'm all paranoid about it. I'm pretty sure having a blood clot in your neck area is worse than in your leg. Needless to say, I'll keep an eye on it and see how it goes from here. -Still having trouble adjusting to the local news up here in Washington. It's, like, when the local newscasters report the news, I don't know if I can trust them. I miss the news broadcasts from Portland. Where's Shauna Parsons when you need her? -I saw a thing on Yahoo! news about a guy would got "popcorn lung" from eating microwave popcorn several times a day for years. "Popcorn Lung" is a disease caused by a chemical in the butter flavoring that had previously only been found in factory workers. Anyway, I love microwave popcorn and have eaten it regularly for years, sometimes several bags a day. Now I'm all worried about getting "Popcorn Lung" and it makes me think twice about having a bag here and there. It's lame. That's all I got for now. Hasta, Kyle
