Lifting up the sun
(while listening to “You Got The Touch” from the Magnolia soundtrack)

Yes!

The- no, MY New Orleans Saints won Super Bowl XLIV 31 to 17! I cannot express how happy I am right now about this! It has finally happened! I finally watched one of my teams win a championship!

This game not only means a lot to me but it means a lot to New Orleanians and Saints fans everywhere. Since Hurricane Katrina New Orleans has been struggling with trying to rebuild and now the Saints gave the entire city something to be proud of. It's one of those things that actually means more than just a championship. It's about overcoming adversity and accomplishing something that is bigger than the game of football. So, to every Saints fan, New Orleanian, and person who has been affected by post-Katrina Louisiana, I dedicate this song to you.

 “A Spoonful Weighs A Ton”
 The Flaming Lips
 The Soft Bulletin

And though they were sad, they rescued everyone.
They lifed up the sun. A spoonful weighs a ton.
Giving more than they had, the process had begun.
A million came from one. The limits now were none.

Being drunk on their plan, they lifted up the sun.

Forcing it off with their hands, the trap door came undone.
Above our heads it swung. The privilege had been won.

Being drunk on their plan, they lifted up the sun.

Yelling as hard as they can, the doubters all were stunned.
Heard louder than a gun, the sound they made was love.

 Kyle

P.S. I finished my Associates degree with a 4.0 and watched the Saints win the Super Bowl in the same week. So far 2010 is looking to be one of my best years ever!
