“Once I start I cannot help myself”
(while listening to Nine Inch Nails's new album The Slip)

-My online classes are going well. So far A's in both Business Writing (COM130) and Critical Thinking (CRT205). COM130 is kinda boring, but CRT205 is pretty cool. We're learning about how to critically analyze arguments and spot fallacies in logic. Apparently I'm learning it well because I did an assignment last week in CRT205 where I got 100% and the teacher said that I was the first student ever to get 100% on that assignment. That's right, I'm awesome. Write it down so you don't forget. Or, you can just bookmark this page. Yeah, bookmark the page instead. Better for the environment.

-My doctors at the LTFU Clinic are going to ween me off my steroids and tacralimus, after I'm done with my coring procedure later this month. After I'm off those medicines, if eveything goes smooth, I should be able to get off ALL my meds after about 6 months. This is great news because I've been waiting years just to here a time frame for me getting off my meds. It's still a ways away, but I'm excited about it. No longer will I have to take so many damn pills and feel the stupid side effects.

-Karly and I went to see Nine Inch Nails at Key Arena. It was awesome! Great show, great visuals, great experience. Actually, getting to the show was a pain in the ass. We were running late because of traffic, and when we got close to Key Arena we found out why: there was a f*&!ing parade! Floats, marching bands, trucks, clowns, and hundreds to thousands of people blocking our way! I almost panicked, but I asked a policeman standing by and he said we could cross when there was an opening. When we finally got inside Key Arena Nine Inch Nails had already started playing, but someone told Karly that it was only the first song in their set. We had completely missed the opening band, whoever they were. Anyway, I was pissed when we showed up because I was worn out, very sweaty and thirsty, and needed to pee. But Trent put on a good show and made me feel better. The only bad part of the show was when Trent started playing "The Frail" and instead of leading that into "The Wretched" he led it into "Closer". If you're familiar with these songs, you should see how much of a travesty this was. But other than that, it was an awesome show.

-I'm still having bone pains all over my body, I'm trying to be less worried about every little ache as it probably means nothing. I mean, I know why my hips hurt and I'm dealing with it, but the pains I feel elsewhere are probably nothing. It could be me weening off the steroids, it could be after effects of radiation, it could be the way I sit / sleep / walk, or it could be all the above. The bottom line is that I'm trying not to worry about the pains so much until I know for sure that there is a problem.

-It's August, so you know what that means: The start of the NFL Preseason. As is usually, I'm the only person in the great Northwest who even cares. The Bengals play a game on ESPN on August 11th against the Favre-less Green Bay Packers. I'll be watching. I'm sure you'll have an excuse for not watching. And I'm sure I won't be pleased with it.

-I'm still playing Final Fantasy XI online. I've been really getting into it. I've officially become one of those dorky, nerdy online gamers that I made fun of so much when I was younger. I'd still like to think I'm slightly better than the average online FF nerd, but the number of hours I've been logging recently beg to differ. I mean, it hasn't deterred me from doing well in school and I'm still playing video games in general about the same amount of time, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel at least a little guilty of overindulging my FF sweettooth instead of doing more important things with my time. At least it gives me the chance to hang out with Casey and Jay, which is an important componet in my social life.

-Man, I am such a nerd. I go to school online, I socialize online... I need to get out more. Not a lot, just... more.

 That's it for today. TTFN.
