Monday December 11, 2006 (12:51pm) Quit your jibba-jabba! (while watching Law & Order: SVU on my PC) -I just got back from my trip to Cali last night. It was a pretty cool trip, except for the plane ride. Put simply, the plane ride totally sucked ass. I hated every last second of it. You see, I'm what's known in aeronautical terms as a "big fat wuss". All I could do the whole ride down was close my eyes, listen to music, and try to pretend I was somewhere else. The plane ride back was a little better as I kept my eyes open for most of it and watched episodes of Family Guy on my PDA. But about an hour into the flight I accidentally looked out the window and pretty much kept them closed after that. I know they say "never say never", but I'm fairly positive that I will never fly again. It's not worth it. It just freaks me out way too much. I already have enough trouble keeping my cool when I'm riding in cars, buses, and trains. Planes are much, much worse to try and deal with. I hope to never have reason to be that far above the ground for the rest of my life. -It was cool seeing family in California, but it was also a little depressing. Grandma is in a hospital recovering from a hip fracture and cousin Alex isn't doing too well either. It was the first time I saw Alex since his accident, and I really didn't know how bad off he was. I guess that's because people just don't like talking about it. I mean, I knew he wasn't doing all that great, but I wasn't clear on all the specifics of his condition. I hung out with him quite a bit when I was down there, and it felt cool that I could kind of be there for him. I'm sure he doesn't get as many visitors as he would like. I hope to get to spend more time with him in the future. Grandma, meanwhile, should be ok to leave her hospital in a few weeks, so it was less depressing to see her in her current condition. I just hope that, when she's better, she can move somewhere where she can be properly taken care of. -I'm getting ready for the hip replacement. It's scheduled for a week from tomorrow. I'm still pretty nervous about it but I'm trying to stay positive, although it kinda comes and goes as it pleases. -The Bengals are doing much better after winning the last 4 games. If the playoffs were today, they would make it. But since there's still three weeks left in the season, things can change. But if they keep winning, the Bengals should be alright.
