Oh My...
(while watching The Office on my PC)

They said it wasn't possible. They said it would never happen. Of course, by "they" I actually mean "I", as I was the one who made these outrageous claims. I shook my fist and used words like "I never!" and "Not Me!" and "That's totally lame!". But in the end, it was all for nothing. They got me. Or, rather, I got them.

 What am I blabbering about?

Last night I got a stupid MySpace page.

What had long appeared like one of the worst ideas since the Bengals drafted Akili Smith all of the sudden seemed like not such a bad idea. "What's the worst that could happen?" I thought to myself. Well, the worst thing that could happen would be to get a virus and have my computer freeze up on me. And to my luck, both of these happened within the first half an hour.

But my antivirus software was right on top of it, so after deleting the virus and a lot of swearing I pressed on. I filled out all my stupid personal info and tried to search for other people that I might know. Other than Luke, Joanne, and Roldog, I was only able to find two people I knew, both of which I haven't spoken to in years: Marshall Scheese and Mynde Rosaaen. I sent them both messages and already heard back from Marshall. He's currently in the military, stationed somewhere overseas (probably Iraq). I was glad to hear that he hasn't gotten blowed up yet, but I'm pretty sure he was even more glader. Then we added each other to our friends list. He was my first MySpace friend. It was special moment.

All in all, after diving head-first into the MySpace scene, it is still my humble opinion that the MySpace experience is a crappy one. As someone who has made his fair share of webpages and is use to being able to do whatever he wants with a webpage via HTML and various scripting languages, MySpace is a totally lame webpage solution. The only - and I do mean ONLY - good thing about MySpace is the connectedness it offers in the form of an online community. That's it. The webpages are so simply structured and limited that I could teach just about anyone everything they'd need to know how to make even better webpages in about an hour. Two hours if they're special. Three hours if they're the President.

Anyway, if anyone wants to check out my MySpace page, here's the link: http://www.myspace.com/155664222. Enjoy. Later,

 Kyle
