“It's a family affair”
(while watching 30 Rock on my PC)

-This last weekend was the Family Reunion. It was awesome. I got all my school work for the week done before Friday so Karly and I could drive down from Oregon City on Saturday. I had a great time hanging out with friends and family. There were a lot of games to play, people catch up with, food to eat, and litte kids running around and having fun. The major downside for me was all that damn sunshine and heat. Fortunately there was enough shade so I could avoid getting that much direct sunlight. Also, family gatherings seem to go by so quick and I always feel like I didn't get to talk to everyone or spend enough time with them or eat enough good food. Part of it was because I left the picnic early with Roldog so he could go pick up his girl but I was worn out from the heat and games and the long drive to Oregon. But there's always next year, so hopefully I learned a few things about time management so I can do better next time.

-I'm still kicking ass in school but I'm in jeopardy of ruining my 4.0 avergae with these two classes I'm currently taking. Nutrition is a tougher, more intense class than I thought it would be and I did pretty bad on a math test (77%!) which really hurt my overall score. Fortunately, I got both of these grades back up over 95% (just barely...) at the end of this last week so if I don't make many more mistakes and stay on top of my assignments I can still get A's. Wish me luck!

-A few weeks ago I FINALLY found more RAM for my PC for sale at a reasonable price! I got 512MB for only $40, including shipping! I have lived with only 256MB ever since I've bought this PC (since 2002) and I am very happy I finally have more! Now my computer does everything much faster! Especially Final Fantasy XI! (the MMORPG I play)

-Speaking of Final Fantasy, after I upgraded the memory on my PC I wanted to check out what it can do now that it couldn't do before. Besides FFXI, the only other game I own that would really test the limits of my PC was the PC version of Final Fantasy VII, my alltime favorite video game. I had never beat the PC version of FFVII because my computer was too slow to handle it at full capacity. Also, I thought it was virtually impossible to beat the PC version because I had read that Eidos, the company that made the PC version, has said that the game is not compatible with Windows XP. But thanks to several VERY IMPORTANT patches made by the great people of the Internet (thank you dziugo!) I was able to play it and beat it on Windows XP with limited problems (it still randomly crashed a couple of times). And I must say that after 12 years and several times through, I still love FFVII and it's still my alltime favorite video game!

-Before Karly and I left Portland we joined our bro Austin on his PSU radio show. It was cool because he let us pick the songs to play. I played Nine Inch Nails' "The Beginning Of The End", Ween's "Exactly Where I'm At", They Might Be Giants' "Experimental Film", and Pearl Jam's "Corduroy", "Leaving Here", and "Brother". It was so fun that we're already talking about doing it again. I brought up the idea of going with a "soundtracks only" theme. We'll see where it goes.

-Happy Birthday in July Shout-Outs: Tony (30!), Eben (11?), Jamie (Thir- I mean 29...), and Kirista (I wanna say... 27?)

 Later,

 Kyle
