"The Normal"
By Kyle Rich
See the slit, start to split, now the pit is open
It's not the time for debate
This divide, step aside, let's return to normal
Before it's finally too late
Did the math, found the path, telegraphed the signal
They know it's time to retreat
Time to go, but they won't, something isn't normal
And I don't think that it's me
Try to plead, they impede, throw a temper tantrum
They push their way to the front
And proceed, when their greed, needs another victim
It's time they gave up the hunt
Will they ever see?
Why don't they believe?
Trading unity
For impunity?
I just hope they see
They can still be free
And return with me
To the normalcy
L and G, B and T, letters aren't the problem
That's not what this is about
Every face, every race, has a place in normal
But some will choose to opt out
It's a curse, getting worse, something so intensive
Ignoring issues at hand
It's your deeds, not your creeds, that I find offensive
Selfish is not in demand
Break the rules, hide the tools, something unexpected
Cause normal's not what they seek
Leave the nest, on a quest, while the rest are working
A blatant shameless technique
See yourself, be yourself, passion's not the problem
But there's a truth you should know
Here's a thought: Like or not, we're in this together
You'll never make it alone
Will they ever see?
Why don't they believe?
Trading unity
For impunity?
I just hope they see
They can still be free
And return with me
To the normalcy
